Oral surgeon Kelley Lybrand, DDS, is excited to be back in Union County where she is from, and where she first began her professional career.
A native of Marshville, Dr. Lybrand worked with Union Oral Surgery a decade ago before leaving to pursue an academic opportunity at the Medical University of South Carolina. Now she’s back, providing oral surgery care for children and adults at our Mint Hill and Monroe offices.
Dr. Lybrand offers the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery including dental implants, wisdom tooth extractions, bone contouring, bone and tissue grafting, pathology, facial trauma surgery and corrective jaw surgery. Her clinical interests also include technology to plan for implant and jaw surgery.

Getting to know each patient is important to Dr. Lybrand. Through listening, answering questions and thoroughly explaining the treatment process, she put patients at ease and helps them understand what to expect every step of the way. She understands that visiting an oral surgeon can cause anxiety for some people. Dr. Lybrand is committed to making sure each patient has a comfortable and pleasant experience with our practice.
Education and Professional Affiliations
Dr. Lybrand graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned her undergraduate and dental degrees. She completed a General Dentistry Residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, and an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Before returning to Union Oral Surgery, Dr. Lybrand served as a faculty member at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina.
